A Clyde native is dead after a boating accident in a lake east of Dallas.

Officers in Collin County recovered 36-year-old Ricky Royse Miller from Lake Tawakoni around 9:30 Wednesday morning about 100 yards off shore.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, he is believed to have drowned during a fishing trip Monday night.

Officers say they found his boat with all his personal belongings, and a friend reported that Miller sent him a text message saying the waves were very high.

A Clyde High School graduate, Miller was living in Allen. His parents, Rick and Ruby Miller, still live in Clyde.

While I appreciate that this site has written an article on my brother, I am extremely disappointed in the many errors. First of all, the accident was at Lake Tawakoni, which is NOT Collin County; therefore, Collin County officers did not recover Ricky. Game Wardens recovered him on the Hunt County side of the lake. (Collin Co has no part of the lake.) Next, his name is Ricky Royce Miller, not Royse. In addition, he is not believed to have drowned in fishing accident Monday night. He was talking to his wife on the phone Monday night just before midnight. The text message that said waves were very high was sent well before he was at home, on the phone with his wife. We are not sure exactly what happened on the boat Tuesday morning, as we are still awaiting information from the ME. Lastly, Miller does live in Allen, but it should be noted that he lives in Allen with his beautiful wife and their two children. I do not intend to offend anyone with my comments but I would like the truth about my brother to be known. Christy Miller
