Sweetwater authorities arrested two 12-year-old boys on Tuesday for arson in connection to the burning of the Palomino Motel on East Broadway.

According to Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden, a call came in at 8:29 p.m. about the fire and firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 8:50 p.m.

The motel suffered heavy damage in two rooms, with damages estimated at about $15,000.

The two juveniles were thought to have started the fire by playing with a lighter.
