Some showers and storms have developed over the western Big Country this afternoon. These should stay west of Abilene and decrease in coverage later this evening. Highs stay in the 90s the next few days. Some good news though, the chances for rain next week are still on track. Slightly cooler weather can be expected next week as well as the low pressure system tracks across the region bringing additional clouds and of course some likely rain-cooled air too.

The latest KRBC Weather Lab forecast:

Tonight: A chance of storms over the western Big Country, the rest of us will see mostly clear skies. Lows near 72.

Friday: Mainly sunny and hot. Highs near 98.

Saturday: Partly sunny. Highs near 97.

Sunday: Partly sunny and a 20% coverage of showers and storms. Highs near 97.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 30% coverage of showers and storms. Highs near 91.
