The entry date for the 76th edition of the Scurry County Rodeo is fast approaching, with added money waiting for the winners.

Entry dates will be July 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 17 from 8 a.m. until noon. Team ropers may enter twice for the rodeo. There is $10,000 in added money and $2,500 will go to the top bull rider.

The Scurry County Rodeo -- named the Texas Cowboys Rodeo Association rodeo of the year in 2006 -- is set for July 19-21 at the Rodeo Grounds on Gary Brewer Road.

Start times will be at 8 p.m. each day, with a $10 admission fee for those 11 and older. Children 10 and under get in free.

There will be a nightly calf scramble for $100 and a ranch bronc riding jackpot.

Mitch Terrel will be the stock contractor for the TNT Rodeo.

On Friday and Saturday night, the rodeo will close with a dance.

Randy Brown will be the entertainer Friday, with Zack Edwards providing the music during the final dance on Saturday.

Brown has been performing for the past decade. In 2008, the Texas Music Association honored him as the male vocalist of the year. He was also nominated for producer of the year, album of the year, entertainer of the year and live band of the year.

He was nominated for entertainer of the year by the Texas Music Association in 2010.

Edwards, who will be the opening act for Doug Stone during the White Buffalo Bikefest downtown concert in October, released his first album in 2007 and had a hit with You Look Better on MySpace.

To enter the rodeo, contact Janie Reimer at (806) 878-2782.
