Trial Underway for Man Accused of North Abilene Shooting

A man accused of an Abilene shooting will face trial Monday.
Pablo Moreno III was arrested by Abilene police for aggravated assault after a shooting on June 19, 2011 outside of Tim's Bait Shop on Ambler Avenue.
Police found Ricky Gomez on the ground with a bullet wound in his chest.
According to an affidavit, Moreno and another man were escorted out of a bar when Moreno went and got a pistol from his car.
Moreno reportedly aimed the gun at a bar employee, but when he fired he shot Gomez instead.
Several witnesses identified Moreno as the shooter.
Moreno is also charged with a parole violation.
