UPDATE: KACU Back on Air After Lightning Damage

Update:
KACU 89.7 is back on the air as of 12:30 Tuesday afternoon after a lightning strike damaged the transmitter.

Original Story:
A local radio station is off air after Sunday night's storm.

KACU, 89.7 FM lost its signal after a lightning strike.

An engineer arrived to find the transmitter had been damaged by the lightning.

Abilene public radio officials say they are waiting for the replacement equipment and hope to be back on air Tuesday.

For now, KACU can be heard on their website, kacu.org.
