The Wichita Falls Rider Raiders come to Shotwell Stadium for the 2nd time in 3 years to take on Cooper. Cooper is unranked in Class 5A, Rider is 7th in the preseason in Class 4A.
The Cougars and the Raiders split their meetings in 2010 and 2011. Cooper took the game 2 years ago here in Abilene, 40 to 21, but Rider answered that with a 21 to 20 victory last year in Wichita Falls. Cooper built a 20 point lead in that one, but the Raiders came back to get the win. The game in 2012 features Texas Football Youngster to Watch Lorenzo Joe for the Cougars and Rider quarterback and Ohio State commit J.T. Barrett.

The Wylie Bulldogs and the Argyle Eagles playing in another Top Match Up in 2012.
The Bulldogs enter the season as the 18th ranked team in Class 3A, but they are picked to finish 2nd in District 4-3A. Argyle has grown into one of the top programs in the Metroplex, and they enter the new season ranked 6th in Class 3A. The Bulldogs return just 4 starters on both sides of the ball and will feature the running of Garrett Martin in 2012. This game is the 1st of several tough non-district games for head coach Hugh Sandifer's team. Argyle advanced to the Div. II state championship game, and they are hoping to make a another run at the title.

The next best match up in Week 0 is set to be played in Munday.
The Munday Moguls enter the 2012 season with high expectations. Head coach Patrick Corcoran's team enters the 2012 season as the top ranked team in Class A Division II after advancing to the championship game in 2011. The 5th ranked Windthorst Trojans have established themselves as one of the best Class A programs in the state with a state title in 2003 and a championship appearance in 2007. Munday knocked Windthorst out of the playoffs last year, 35 to 28. Dee Paul leads the Moguls. Tradition leads the Trojans.
