Tommy Morris and Nancy Johnson from Blue Cross Blue Shield visited the Coleman County Commissioners Court Monday to present the insurance coverage plan and ask for a renewal next year.

Coleman County employees have had coverage with them since 2002. Each year there is a slight rate increase from the previous year.

Next year there will be a 5% increase totaling $15,954, however, the representatives prefaced that there will be a renewal credit.

According to Morris, the County has had a good history and considerably low rate increases due to their membership coverage with the Texas Association of Counties and the large 42,000 member pool.

The employee benefit plan includes a $5,000 deductible with a $30 doctor visit co-pay. Life Insurance plans will have no increases.

The Court authorized to accept the renewal proposal leaving the plan the same as last year.
