A Brownwood sailor was injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

BrownwoodNews.com reports Petty Officer First Class Cody Williams suffered several wounds when the Humvee he was in ran over an improved explosive device.

Williams is the son of Cloy and Jeannie Williams of Brownwood and graduated in 2004 from Brownwood high school before enlisting in the Navy, where he completed two deployments in Iraq before being sent to Afghanistan.

He was flown to a hospital in Germany and will be brought back to a military hospital in the US.
