One woman is headed to jail
and another received a probated
sentence after entering guilty
pleas in District Judge Ernie
B. Armstrong's 132nd District
Courtroom on Monday.
Olga Rubio Medrano, 32, formerly of Snyder, saw her probation revoked on a pair of forgery charges stemming from 2003.
She will serve concurrent one and two-year sentences.
She was originally given a two-year sentence, probated five years, and ordered to pay a $500 fine, $712.28 in restitution and $465 in fees, as well as participate in the TAIP program. That sentence stems from a May 2003 state jail felony charge of forgery.
In June 2003, she was handed down a one-year sentence, probated five years, and ordered to pay $7,864.25 in restitution and $465 in fees for a state jail felony charge of forgery.
Medrano's probation was revoked after she failed to appear to her probation officer on four occasions in 2010 and 2011, failed to mail a probation report 15 times between January 2010 and April 2011, failed to pay fines, restitution and fees between January 2010 and April 2011 and failed to perform required community service from January 2010 to April 2011.
Abigail Garcia, 32, of Snyder, was given a five-year probated sentence after pleading guilty to evading arrest, a third degree felony.
The charge stems from a March 29 incident in which she fled in a vehicle from a law enforcement officer that was attempting to arrest her.
In addition to her sentence, Garcia was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $848 in court and attorney fees, as well as to participate in the TAIP program.
