The Wylie Bulldogs make their 1st appearance in our countdown of the top match ups of 2012. The Bulldogs are set to be at home to take on Graham in Week 2. Head coach Hugh Sandifer's team enters the year as the 18th ranked team in the state and they are expected to finish 2nd in District 4-3A. The Steers are picked to win District 5-3A this year. No matter what year it is, Graham and Wylie play each other tough. In the last 8 years, the Bulldogs have won 4 times and the Steers have won 4 times. It's an even match up and it is one of the top match ups of Week 2.

In most week's a game between the 8th ranked Albany Lions and the top ranked Munday Moguls would be at the top of the list. Albany is down in Division 2 for the 1st time. The Lions are led on offense by preseason district MVP Jake Bumgardner. He passed and ran for over 1,000 yards in 2011, and his team advanced to the regional semifinals. Munday is expected to continue it's dominance of the division in 2012. Munday continues a tough stretch of the schedule. Dee Paul and company are on the list of top match ups for the 3rd straight week. Their game with the Lions is preceded by Stamford in Week 1, and Windthorst in Week 0.

The Merkel Badgers and the Stamford Bulldogs are featured in the list for the 2nd week in a row, only this time, they are playing each other. Merkel's resurgence continues into the 2012 season with Baylor Mullins leading the charge this year. Stamford is counting on quarterback Hagen Hutchinson to lead them to another state championship game appearance. This is the 1st meeting between the unranked Badgers and the 2nd ranked Bulldogs in many years. This match up will be a good gauge for both teams as they prepare for district play.

Here's a look at the best of the rest in Week 2. Former district rivals Brownwood and Snyder meet at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers and Lions have split the last 4 meetings. The Cooper Cougars start the longest district season in Little Southwest Conference history against fellow playoff contender Midland Lee.
