"It's a little different because I'm used to looking up to all the older guys and now its our time, my time to step up and take over."

After leading Stamford to the State Championship game for the first time in over 50 years as a junior, Senior Hagen Hutchinson has a lot more to do his senior year.

"Its going to be a special, special year," Says Head Football Coach, and Dad, Wayne Hutchinson, "It's been fun watching him progress and do the things that he's done. Lots of pressure on him this year, but I think he is one of those types of players where I think he likes pressure and the more pressure, he loves to perform under it."

Hagen's athleticism speaks for itself. Last year he had a combined 4724 yards, 27 rushing touchdowns, 38 passing touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. He's Dave Campbell's Coverboy for Class 1A, QB for the all state team in Class 1A, and that's only talking offense.

"You know, he just basically runs our offense very, very well. A lot of people think that he is one of the best quarterbacks around, but they over look what he can do defensively." Adds Coach Hutchinson.

Playing Safety last season, Hagen has 129 tackles a fumble recovery and interception. He's also been named the Defensive Utility player for the Super Team which covers all classifications.

" I just got through my head like, just imagine me playing the game before it happens. And with situations, just what I'm suppose to do, and how to do it." Adds Hagen.

So although he is coming off of shoulder surgery, He still should be ready to go by the time the 2012 season starts, making him an easy choice as one of our player to watch in 2012.
