City Council Approves APD Purchase of Armored Vehicle

The Abilene Police Department will soon have an armored vehicle.

Abilene City Council approved the purchase at Thursday's meeting.

APD asked the council to consider the purchase of a new armored vehicle in May.

It will be used to help protect the police department's SWAT team.

I am wondering what amount in money has been spent on the Abilene Police Department in the last 24 months??? It seems like everytime we turn around something else is needed??? By the way the Fire Department has fallen behind in their request for up grades....
