Students and faculty from the department of engineering and physics at ACU have helped set a Guinness world record for the highest man-made temperature in the world.

The record was set in Upton, NY at an underground atomic "racetrack" facility that collides ions together to produce high man-made temperatures.

The record temperature was an incredible 4 trillion degrees Celsius, which is 250,000 times hotter than the center of the sun.
