Deputies say they're looking for a man they believe is still somewhere in the big country.

They've been searching for him since last Saturday and are now turning to the public for help.

Law enforcement officials from various counties have joined forces and are on the lookout.

"We truly believe that hes somewhere in the big country still," said Stephens Co. Sheriff DanYoung.

They're searching for Clinton James Easter whose wanted in three counties for theft and now evading arrest.

It all began here when a Breckenridge deputy tried to stop Easter- who decided to flee.

"Mr. Easter at that time did run from the deputy, refused to stop and pull over," said Young.

That pursuit ended in a more than five hour search for the 44 year-old as he escaped into the woods near the home he had been staying at.

Officials then found out he had gone to another ranch in Eastland Co.,  but fled before they could arrest him.

Neighbors around the area say they're now living on lock-down.

"He's made the neighborhood a hard place to relax in- its been a situation where we worry, where we've locked things we haven't locked in the past," said Dwayne White, a neighbor.

Although deputies say Easter isn't dangerous, they do believe he may be armed and desperate to not be caught.

"He is real confrontational, I don't recommend people have any conference, if they confront him, hes liable to get pretty viscous with them," said Young.

He's already stolen over $20,000 worth of items from several ranches and may be out for more.

"Hes been arrested in Bryan in June for stealing copper wire, some of the items that were found down in Eastland County also were stolen from Eastland County so obviously  he's doing a lot of thefts which is costing the public a lot of money," said Young.

Deputies believe Easter is driving a white Chevrolet single cab pick up possibly pulling a tan colored travel tailor.

They're asking anyone who may have seen easter or have any information to please contact  the Stephens Co. Sheriffs office at (254) 559-2481.
