Keeping up with heart medication can be a full time job!

Now a new study finds having a pharmacist help you through the process may not make it any easier.

Researchers at Vanderbilt university had over eight hundred adults who were hospitalized for heart problems either work with a pharmacist after their hospital stay, or manage their medications on their own.

They found half of all patients had at least one major medication error within thirty days, regardless of whether they had a pharmacist helping them.

Experts say the patients in the study were well-educated and literate, and that more work needs to be done to help patients safely take their medication after discharge.
