Cincinnati Bengals Receiver Jordan Shipley was in town Friday at the D-1 Sports Facility.

Shipley worked out at the complex with other members of D-1. He is a part owner of the facility with Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten and Colts Deep Snapper Justin Snow.

He was glad to come back to Abilene, and he's happy to be a part of the D-1 sports team.

"I was brought up here and it's kind of just always felt like home. My dad coached at Abilene Christian so I grew up going to football games. The combination of Abilene and athletics is kind of special to me. It's great for these kids. Obviously I thought a lot of D1. I went all the way up there to train in Nashville for the combine for them to have the first one down here is really cool and I'm glad to be a part of it." Says Shipley.

Shipley is still rehabbing his knee injury that he suffered back in September against the Denver Broncos. The former Texas Longhorn is not a stranger to injuries in his career, he has had five total. But Shipley says he is right on schedule as the 2012 season approaches, and should be 100% by the time preseason starts.
