Brownwood Police confiscated 40 marijuana plants after a tip led them to a residence on Avenue I where a man was growing the plants in plain sight, according to Assistant Chief of Police James Fuller.

A Brownwood Police officer followed up on a tip Saturday, July 7 which was reported by a caller who saw the plants as they walked past the residence. The caller reported seeing what looked like marijuana and an officer was sent to investigate.

According to Fuller, the officer walked down the alleyway and was able to see into the residence's unfenced backyard. Growing in two white buckets were 40 marijuana plants which were varying in sizes, up to approximately 1 foot in height. All 40 of the plants were seized and taken to Brownwood Police Department and secured as evidence.

Fuller says the case is still under investigation and no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.
