The court approved the application for a $600,000 Texas Department of Transportation grant to build a new 15,000-square foot hangar at Winston Field.
John Rogotzke said the museum is the reason behind starting the fly-in and air show in an effort to promote the museum.
The new space would generate more tourism to the county, he added.
"In 2001, when this started, most of those hangars were empty and the main hangar was derelict," Rogotzke said. "Today, all the hangars are full with a waiting list and we have tripled our fuel sales. This will make it better for everyone."
