The Albany Lions may have dropped down to Class A Division 2,

"It was a little surprising, and at first we were a little shocked and didn't want to be there, but there are a lot of good teams in DII like there is in DI." Adds Jake.

But doesn't change anything when it comes to the talent of their duel threat quarterback Jake Bumguardner.

"Having someone whose been Quarterback for two years and has gone deep into the playoffs both those years and has 20-25 games under his belt already is exciting for him and exciting for us as a team." says Albany Head Coach Denny Faith.

Now in his third year in the pocket, and the second year on our list, Bumguardner knows this Lions offense like the back of his hand. Last season he rushed and passed for a total of 2742 yards, had 36 touchdowns and is named the Offensive MVP for 8-1A Division 2.

"Ive just been trying to get better, better myself, better my teammates all offseason. Ive been working out in the weight room, doing agilities and trying to get faster."

"Jake knows our offense, he knows exactly what to do, and could probably call as good a game as I or an offensive coordinator or anyone else could."

So even in a whole new district, and a whole new division with all new teams, you'll still see the same Jake Bumguardner- and he's a player to watch in 2012.
