"It's just time to go ahead and for all these people in Knox City to stand up," she said.
She personally handed more than 20 written complaints to city council members.
Those residents claim a local police officer has taken his badge privileges too far.
They hope their words will bring some kind of change.
"This is just getting a little bit too out of hand," said Debbie Gutierrez, whose husband claims a police officer maced him for no reason, "there are certain ways to stop a person and not automatically assume that they're thugs on the street," she said.
Now they wait, as city council members review their complaints and decided how to regard them.
"We'll do our research and investigate the complaints, see if they're worthy of taking the next step which would be such as discipline or anything of that nature," said Knox City admin.Chad Roberts.
Residents continued to arrive as they waited for the members to conclude an executive session where they reviewed the complaints.
They sat patiently anticipating the outcome.
"Yeah you definitely receive complaints on officers from time to time, but nothing of this magnitude," said Roberts.
Even though it may not be the one they want.
"I would be very devastated if that's the case, but like I say, I guess well just keep fighting it," said Gutierrez.
City officials say it will take up to two weeks before an official decision is made regarding the officer in question.
