A female victim had notified APD Dispatch that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and that she was bleeding from her head. Officers and EMS arrived and contacted the female victim who was conscious and talking. The male suspect was still on scene upon police arrival. Officer Woods' investigation revealed that the male suspect was under the influence of alcohol and that he had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with his hands and feet and at one point had cut-off her airway during the assault. The suspect was arrested on the warrant and was charged with felony assault family violence and an emergency protection order was requested.
Last night at about 9:50, Officer Jeremy Holmes was dispatched to a theft in progress in the 300 block of Cockerell Drive. A concerned citizen notified APD Dispatch that two male subjects were going up and down the street with a stolen lawnmower. Officers responding to the call learned that the lawnmower had most likely been taken from a nearby home based on the witness' observations. Officer Holmes' contacted both male subjects in the 800 block of Cockerell Drive and observed the lawnmower in control of one of the subjects. His investigation revealed that these subjects conspired and stole the lawnmower from a home in the 400 block of Cockerell Drive and that they both planned on trading the stolen lawnmower for marijuana and splitting the proceeds from the trade. Both subjects were arrested for theft.
