We start things in District 8-A Div. 2 with a match up between a pair of state ranked teams. The number 1 ranked Munday Moguls hit the road to take on number 7 Muenster. The Moguls can take a big step toward returning to the 2012 playoffs with a win against the Hornets. Preseason Class A Most Valuable Player Dee Paul is joined this year by 8 other returning starters on offense and 6 other starters on defense. Muenster returns 11 starters from a Division 1 district champion and state quarterfinalist team. The district crown could be on the line in this one.

Now to District 4-A Division 1 and the Stamford Bulldogs. The 2nd ranked Bulldogs are on the road for their game with Forsan in Week 8. The Bulldogs are by far the most experienced team in the district with 8 starters back on offense and defense. Stamford boasts the district offensive MVP in quarterback Hagen Hutchinson and the defensive MVP in linebacker Ty McLemore, and James Washington is the leading returning receiver in the district. Stamford is expected to win the district, but Forsan is be a challenge. The Buffaloes are coming down from Class 2A with 7 starters back on both sides of the ball.

And finally to District 4-3A and the biggest test in the Aubrey Sims era at Snyder. By the time the Tigers face 17th ranked Monahans, the rebuilding should be finished by Week 8. Brandon Davis is one of the few returners for the Tigers heading into the 2012 season. Davis gained 334 receiving yards and found the end zone 3 times last year. There is no secret to Monahans offense. They are going to run right at you and then come back and do it again. The Tigers have lost to Monahans 5 of the last 6 meetings.

Here are the best of the rest from Week 8 of the season. The Permian Panthers come to town to take on Cooper. The Merkel Badgers and the Breckenridge Buckaroos get together at Buckaroo Stadium. Both teams are picked to go to the playoffs.
