Focus on Faith: Praying Inmates

"Our father who art in heaven, hallowed would be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done," David Kelsey recites.

Prayer is what some inmates at the Taylor County Jail have turned to in order to get through their time in jail.

"It's really been a life savior in here because it's really pretty tough," says Kelsey.

Kelsey says his pod is known  the "Savior Dome".

A group of inmates gather together after dinner to pray, sing, and worship.

"We often got our eyes closed because of everything that is going on around us," says Clinton Grubb.

With the support of each other, inmates in pod F310  are able to use god's encouraging words to make it through each day.

Kelsey continues, "The word says that God will make something good out of everything bad."

Despite the fact they are confined to these four walls, these men see how God is working in their lives on a daily basis.

"To go up and want to wrap your arms around them and say you love them that's strength, from Christ Jesus. That's the only place that comes from," Grubbs says.

If it was not for the Savior Dome, many of these men say they don't know where they would be.

"I don't really think I could make it, if it wasn't for these guys," says Kelsey.
