"Not a lot of people in my background of family that's gone to college."

"I think I'm going to be the first one to actually graduate high school and go to college."

Echoing responses from young people who are up against the odds and overcoming challenges.

"You're never too early to start," says Humberto Diaz.

Through Cafe Con Leche, at-risk youth have been able to get the tools they need to challenge themselves and seek a post-secondary degree.

Diaz continues, "They just talk about how we need to help ourselves to further our eduction and a little advice of what we need to do."

Something that almost seemed impossible, especially for Gabby Ortega whose brother passed away last year.

"It was hard," Ortega says.

But she knew she had to keep pushing, for him.

Ortega continues, "That made a big impact on my life. That makes me want to become, get further in life."

Cafe Con Leche has already helped so many young people plan for their education and an even brighter future.

"I wouldn't know as much stuff as I do now since this program started," says Reagan Arispe.

"It's going to decide how I live the rest of my life. It's going to be the path that I take and it's going to make me who I am," says Javier Furete.
