Marlisa Goldsmith Tries Throwing The Javelin And Hammer

"You're built more like a javelin thrower," says Coach Barbara Crousen.

I think that was a compliment.

"The trick is to keep the tip up," Crousen says.

Before I get to that, Coach Smith decides starting with the basics would probably be a better idea.

Once I mastered that,  I got to take a shot at actually throwing the javelin

Despite my build, maybe javelin throwing isn't quite for me.

So I decide to try the hammer.

"That's harder than I thought. The ball weighs like a thousand pounds."

But Coach Crousen says otherwise.

"A little bit over nine pounds," says Coach Crousen.

Just like everything else, practice makes almost perfect and after a few tries, I was pretty much a pro.

Coach says, "There you go! Boy she's a quick learner here. You got it!"
