"I've lived in Taylor County since 1932," says Bee Shackelford.

In 93 years, you can bet she has seen her share of elections, just not with much controversy.

"Not many times, but it's been pretty heated this year," she says.

Partly due to topics discussed during debates leading up to voting including drug tests, morale and budget.

Shackelford continues, "I think that's the way people are. Sometimes people let gossip sway their minds, their thinking, and I'm not going to do that."

Shackelford has her mind made up.

"I just know who I'm going to vote for and I don't think anybody else could do a better job than Bruce is doing," says Shackelford.

Some, however, think otherwise.

"People in Taylor County are ready for a change," says Theron Durant.

Durant thinks Ricky Bishop will be that change.

He says, "I believe he has very strong morals. He's a very good family person."

Being a resident of Taylor County for 48 years and knowing Ricky Bishop since he was a teenager, Durant feels certain Bishop is qualified to take over the role as sheriff.

"The one thing that we haven't had in many, many years is what they call a working sheriff," says Durant, "he said if he wasn't doing something in his office, he'd be out with his officers and i really believe in that."

As you weigh your pros and cons for the two finalists, Shackelford reminds us in the end, you must make a decision.

"You're either for somebody or you're for somebody else," she says.

Taylor County Employees can NOT use the system for personal use! Are you saying running a campaign is "County Business"? I don't think so!

Bishop says he can't run background checks on all his campaign donors. Why not? He has the resources to do it. Does he have so many donations coming in that he can't keep up with them?
