If you've noticed a few cracks in your foundation or maybe your windows do not shut properly anymore, you may have a bigger problem than you realize.

Jeremy Cloud with Abilene Foundation Repair allowed us on to one of their work sites to get a better idea for how to spot problems to avoid costing you thousands in repairs.

The house Cloud was working on, began noticing problems when their garage door stopped working properly.

"The garage door had actually fallen so far that you couldn't get the door to open any further," explains Cloud.

According to Cloud, problems like this can occur in homes as they age and as weather conditions change. Both drought and heavy rains can contribute to shifting in a homes foundation.

"You generally see a lot of cracks on the exterior portion of the house," adds Cloud, "regular doors not opening or closing correctly, door locks not working, things of that nature."

Fixing a problem like this, according to Cloud, is all in a day's work! The process involves cement cylinder beams and a hydraulic system.

"They'll excavate under the perimeter beam and actually install the beams and push the whole wall back up," explains Cloud.

And if for some reason the solution doesn't work exactly as planned, Cloud says Abilene Foundation Repair comes with a lifetime warranty.
