22 years ago the United States passed a bill that has granted equal opportunities to millions of Americans.

The Texas Centers for Independent Living celebrated the historic passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act earlier Thursday.

The historic act has opened the door of opportunity to disabled Americans, allowing them to achieve their dreams and become successful. The act was signed into law on July 26, 1990 by then president George H.W. Bush.

Thursday's celebration was held to honor those Americans who would be in a very different situation just two decades ago.
