UPDATE: Horses Need New Homes

Friday Update:

The Abilene Animal Shelter reports that two of the eight horses taken into custody this week by Rescue the Animals, SPCA have been adopted. Officials say they have had several other inquiries about the remaining horses.

Rescue the Animals, SPCA in Abilene has taken custody of eight horses that are needing new homes. The horses are being held and cared for at the Abilene Animal Shelter.

Seven of the horses came from a seizure in an unnamed county; authorities are looking into possible criminal charges against the owner.

Another horse, and a donkey, were taken in from Stephens County. Paul Washburn with Rescue the Animals, SPCA says the donkey has already been adopted, but the other horses are still waiting for new owners.
