The fire was contained late Sunday evening, according to Lueders Fire Chief Cory Lee.
It burned between 4,500 and 5,000 acres of ranch land, owned by at least two property owners.
Most of the crews were sent home late Sunday night -- Texas Forest Service, Lueders & Shackelford Co. fire crews will remain on scene all night to monitor & mop up hot spots.
No structures were lost and no injuries have been reported.

A large grass fire in Shackelford County continues to burn out of control on Sunday and is showing no signs of slowing down.
As of 12 p.m. Sunday, 3,100 acres of ranch land were burned, just west of Albany, near Highway 180, according to Lueders Fire Chief, Cory Lee.
Fire crews from Albany, Anson, Hamby, Clyde, Throckmorton, Woodson, Stamford, Lueders and more are battling high winds and heat as the fast-moving fire continues to grow, Lee said.
There is no word on containment at this point.

A large grass fire is burning out of control in Shackelford County.
The fire is burning just west of Albany, a few miles from the intersection of Highway 180 and State Highway 6 on Bluff Creek Ranch.
Fire crews from Albany, Leuders, Anson and Hamby have been working to contain the blaze since just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Cory Lee, Leuders Fire Chief, said the fire has gotten out of hand and is only about 15- to 20-percent contained at this point.
It is estimated between 2,000 and 2,500 acres, according to the Shackelford County Sheriff's Office.
Several structures were threatened by flames Saturday afternoon, but were saved, Lee said.
There are no road closures or evacuations in effect. The fire is burning mostly ranch lands.
