The Cross Plains Public Library is pleased to announce that the scrapbook and photos of the 2005 firstorm are now available online. After six months of scanning and identifying over 400 photos, historian Ann Beeler has completed much of the work, but she is asking for your help to identify the remaining people and places in the pictures. You can view the photos and scrapbook at http://texashistory.unt.edu/search/. Then, enter "Cross Plains Firestorm" in the search box. If you are able to provide more information, contact Ann Beeler (annbeeler17@gmail.com).

Our thanks to the Burdine Johnson Foundation of Buda, TX for underwriting this project, and to our library partners who were instrumental in its success: Don Tabor and The Cross Plains Review, Tara Carlisle and the University of North Texas "Portal to Texas History," Bettie Cavanaugh for compiling the scrapbook and Frances Thornton for the many photographs she supplied. We are grateful to have this important piece of our town's history preserved and available to everyone.
