Update: Early Realtor Recovering After Vehicle Strikes Utility Pole

Local Realtor and Early ISD school board member Gary Bowen of Early is recovering in an Abilene hospital after an automobile accident Tuesday morning.

Friend Ross Setzler reported that the accident was caused when Bowen had a heart attack and that he had been airlifted to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for treatment.

Once there, Bowen underwent surgery, having stents placed and now is stable but critical condition, according to Setzler.

"He is doing much better now," said Setzler.  "He is recovering and they are trying to determine if there is any damage to his heart."

Bowen is a Realtor at Prudential Ross Real Estate in Early.

One man was airlifted after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Early.

The accident was discovered around 7:15 in the area of Windcrest and Skyview in Early. The white SUV struck a utility pole and a large tree just off of Skyview.

The male driver was reported to be conscious at the time emergency responders got him out of the vehicle; however Guardian EMS requested for AirEvac to transport the driver by helicopter to an Abilene hospital.

According to reports on scene, the accident was likely caused by a medical issue.

Early Police and Early Volunteer fire department responded to the scene.
