Abilene High Is Ranked 25th In National Poll

By: David Robinett
Updated: August 3, 2012
The Abilene High Eagles are expected to win their district in 2012, but that is not where the expectations end this year.

Head coach Steve Warren's team enters the 2012 season as the 25th ranked team in the preseason RivalsHigh 100 national rankings.

The website says the Eagles are a bit undersized, but that's nother new, and they says, Abilene High is "comfortable in it's own skin."

Rivals says quarterback Evin Abbe is the key player for the Eagles. In his 1st year as the starter, Abbe threw for 2,909 yards and 24 TD's.

14 starters are back from last year's state quarter finalist team, and 18 players are back with experience.

Abilene High opens the 2012 season on August 31 in Lewisville against Hebron.
