Updated: August 4, 2012
A fundraiser to benefit an injured Eastland man raised about $14,000 dollars Saturday.

People turned out in droves to support local businessman Mitch Riffle, who was severely injured in a wreck on Ranger Hill.

Riffle has been recovering in a Ft. Worth hospital since June 14th, slowly awakening from a coma.

The community came together to organize a garage sale, silent auction and raffle at Higginbotham Brother's in Eastland Saturday, to help Riffle and his family with medical bills.

Organizers told KTAB the parking lot of Higginbotham's was filled form 7 a.m. to noon with people and cars.

All items that were not sold will be donated to local charities.
