REMINDER: HEB Stuff the Bus Event on Friday, Supports Local Students

By: Press Release
Updated: August 9, 2012
On Friday, August 10, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Communities in Schools and HEB will team up to raise much needed school supplies for students during a one-day Stuff the Bus donation drive event. The community is invited to stop by HEB, located at 1345 Barrow Street, and donate school supplies, or donate money through the company's check stand donation campaign.

All HEB stores on August 10 will have an immunizer on hand at the Pharmacy to give immunizations and provide further information about vaccinations to make sure every child heads back to school healthy. Through September 5, customers can also donate to Communities in Schools through its check stand donation campaign, which invites customers to donate $1, $3 or $5.

Needed school supplies include: backpacks, scissors, glue, spiral notebooks, boxes of crayons, construction paper, pocket folders, erasers, pens, colored pencils, 3-ring binders, highlighters, dividers, pencil sharpeners, index cards, tissue, wide-ruled paper and graphing paper and much more.

Just in time for the start of school, Communities in Schools will distribute supplies collected from the donation drive the following week to students in need throughout Abilene.
