Updated: August 7, 2012
Cyndi Smith, principal at Thomas Elementary School, will serve as this year's District 14 President for the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA).

Officers from the 20 TEPSA districts across the state were installed at the association's July Leadership Conference.

Smith, whose education career spans 19 years, served as a TEPSA district officer last year. She has been principal at Thomas since 2010 and previously served as an instructional specialist at Mann Middle School and Abilene High School.

Smith began her career in AISD in 1994 as a teacher at Cooper High School.

"District officers play a vital role in communicating TEPSA's mission at the local level," said Executive Director Sandi Borden. "They are committed to serving Texas PreK-8 educators and students."

TEPSA has served Texas PreK-8 school leaders since 1917. The organization has more than 5,800 members who direct the activities of more than 2.5 million PreK-8 school children.
