APD met with reporters at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in order to discuss the details of the shooting which occurred Monday, ending with the wounding of two young boys.

21-year-old Christopher Mack is charged with two counts of felony injury to a child after shooting two young boys who were seated in the back of a vehicle.

At the moment, APD says the investigation will focus mainly on the injuries inflicted upon the children.

The investigation regarding the connection, if any, between the shooter and the drivers of the vehicle will be postponed until then.

According to APD, the 8-year-old boy received only a minor head wound and was treated and released from the hospital. They are uncertain whether this wound was received from a bullet graze, or broken glass.

However, the 12-year-old is currently in critical condition.

If the 12-year-old does not recover, then the charges against Mack will change accordingly.

Police would not give out any information regarding the location of the shooter at the time of the shooting, but said they were able to recover the weapon, which was of critical importance to the case.
