Senior Quarterback Cameron Denison had his hand in three games last season, and Junior Running Back Jake Fisher started two.
The one thing that did hurt the Longhorns were injuries. Hoping history doesnt repeat itself, Head Coach Brad Bowden- now in his third year- says the best place to start in order for it not to happen is with his players themselves.
"The first thing we had to focus on was our mental attitude, our mentality and our attitude and our chemistry. I feel like we've had some good leadership step up, and some good kids that have stepped up and provided good team leadership. The attitude has been good, and the chemistry is starting to show that it could be there." Says Head Coach Brad Bowden.
"Everyone is real positive and excited to be back. Of course the heat is a factor, but we are all conditioned from the summer and we are just trying to get back in to the swing of things." adds Senior Cameron Denison.
Extra points for the Longhorns:
-Their key factor to a successful season this year is their versatility.
-They have four returners on offense and two on defense, making for a young team.
-They open the season August 31st against the 3rd ranked Cisco Loboes in Cisco.
