Abilene ISD has sent notifications to parents and guardians regarding the policy for free and reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch and National School Breakfast program.

Eligibility for the program depends on the income of the family, though any foster children who are the responsibility of a state agency or court are automatically qualified for free meals.

To apply for the program, forms must be filled out and returned to the school.

Applications may be taken to the school any time throughout the school year.

Information needed by the district for application does change depending on whether the family is receiving any form of governmental assistance.
