Keenum Turning Heads At Texans Camp

Updated: August 8, 2012
The Houston Texans continue preparing for the 2012 season down in Houston, and former Wylie Bulldog quarterback Case Keenum is getting noticed by head coach Gary Kubiak during training camp.

The Texans signed Keenum to a free agent contract after the draft to compete for 1 of the Texans quarterback roster spots.

Kubiak said, "I've been really impressed with Case. I like his want to be good."

Keenum says, "My strength is operation. You know being able to operate the offense, but something I can get better at, too. I was even talking today that I need to work on my operations. Speeding it up, and just getting play called, call it in the huddle, get to the line, getting my checks, and then, that's all before the play. That not even actually the play, so working on that, too has been key.">

Kubiak added, "He's a very driven young man. He works very hard at it. I think he's going to find a way. I just think that's what I see every day in practice. Football is very important to him. He's a leader. People kind of flock to him and you can tell that in practice."

Houston starts the preseason Saturday night against the Carolina Panthers.
