Jessica Rogers was a student at Hardin Simmons University and played volleyball for the school.

Friends and coworkers spoke to us today about what kind of person Jessica was. They say she had the biggest heart in the world and truly cared about every person she met. Teammates say she was full of life and when she came into a room you could not help but smile.

After only coaching Jessica for two years, Sabrina Bingham says she was a one of a kind teammate. "She was a fighter. She was somebody that we knew that every time she was on the court she would make us give a 100 percent because that's what she was going to do every single day," Bingham says.

"When she wasn't on the court, Jessica was the type of person who everyone was friends with," teammate, Madison Reyes, added

Jessica focused on more than just volleyball. This past fall, she was one of 52 student athletes named to the American Southwest Conference All Academic Honor Roll.

Jessica was supposed to be at Luskey's Western Wear at ten this morning for work. When she didn't show up, her manager, Sonny Dillard knew something was wrong. Dillard says Rogers would do anything for anyone and says she had a bright future. "She had plans in the future of starting her own business. It's just a tragedy," Dillard says.

This is a tragedy her teammates say they will try to put behind them, as they try to move forward.

Members of the Hardin Simmons volleyball team and other students will meet with athletic director John Neese and the university chaplain tomorrow afternoon.
