A 12-year-old Anson boy is still fighting for his life in a Fort Worth hospital after being shot in the head in Abilene after a drug deal turned violent. The boy was in the back seat of a SUV that was leaving a home on North 9th Street. That's when police say 21-year-old Christopher Mack shot at the SUV striking the boy. The boy has been in Cook Children's Hospital ever since. His home town of Anson is doing what it can to help him. KTAB's Victor Sotelo was in Anson for a prayer vigil tonight for 12 year old zach.....
It was supposed to be a special year for Zack and his football team. They were all supposed to start playing football for the Tigers this year. They will be one short, but his team was at Tiger Stadium to make sure it does not stay that way. And so were many others from the Anson.
Zach's family was not surprised to see so many people suporting him. Posters were made and everybody there signed them so they could be taken to Zach in the hospital for him to see when he gets better.
Friends at the vigil say Zach is doing better but still in critical condition.
