Webcast: Firefighters Squash Early Morning Alley Fire

Abilene firefighters worked to protect some homes from an early morning grass fire in a south Abilene alley.
It happened very early Friday morning near South 14 and Santos.
Firefighters worked quickly to keep the flames from reaching the nearby homes.
Investigators say that it may have been started by a transient.
Firemen say the grass and weeds are dangerously dry and fires that get started in such conditions burn quickly.
Thankfully, due to the quick work of firefighters, there were no injuries.
