ABILENE, Texas - With the advent of a new school year comes the reporting of McMurry University's 2012 fall sports student-athletes for pre-season workouts. War Hawks in the sports of men's soccer, women's soccer, men's cross country, women's cross country and volleyball will all report to campus beginning Saturday, August 11.

In addition to better than 100 candidates for the football squad - the McM football team reported for camp on Friday, Aug. 10 - McMurry will be welcoming upwards of an additional 100 student-athletes in the other five fall programs. The teams will be participating in pre-season practices until classes begin on Monday, August 27.

McMurry University's athletics program will be in its first season as an NCAA Division II provisional member in 2012-13. All of the fall sports - with the exception of football - will be competing as a new member of the Heartland Conference, as well (football is playing as an NCAA II independent).

Additionally, all of McMurry's teams, except for swimming, will hold dual national affiliation with the National Christian College Athletic Association.
