The 19th Annual Bev Ball Volleyball Classic bounces into Abilene, with normal rivals Abilene and Cooper High Schools joining together to once again host the tournament named after local legendary long time swim coach, Bev Ball.

Teams participating in the preseason tournament will come from Brownwood, Stephenville, Lubbock, Burleson, Big Spring, San Angelo and Leander. Wylie High and Water Valley High, both ranked number one in their classification by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, will also compete. Spectators may purchase a tournament pass, a day pass or pay by the game. Prices as follows:

Tournament Pass: $10 adult and $5 student
Day Passes:  $6 adult  and $4 student
Game Prices: $5 adult  and $3 student

The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau estimate the economic impact of this event is $57,200 and will bring in over 300 out-of-town visitors.

"The Invitational tournaments hosted by local coaches in Abilene is not only great for the community but the local athletes from our schools by allowing Abilene teams to face strong competition without the expense of travel. The city benefits immensely from travel dollars spent," Debi Schultz, sports sales director for the ACVB said. "It's a win-win."

Good luck to all the players!
