Drivers Reminded to Slow Down after Local Finds Car in Back Yard

From the road, you can see the mixed-matched coloring of wood and tire tracks along the grass and asphalt. For those who live along Danville, the danger of a fast-moving car is familiar.

"Well I've had a problem with people speeding down Danville. There's been a lot of drag racing going on," said Ashley Tennison.

And Ashley , who has had two cars smash into her back yard in the one year she's lived there, is no different.

"Womebody hit my fence, and that's why that part over there is a different color. And then in may, somebody actually took out the entire fence," she said. "So I've had an issue with having to replace my fence a few times."

And the high speeding cars along Danville drive have done more than just simply run over the fences.

"A few years ago, the lady next door over here actually had somebody run through her fence and run through her house," Ashley explained.

The two accidents also caused Ashley to lose her sense of security and privacy in her own home.

"It was pretty bad because I would have contractors come knock on the back door, wanting to fix the fence, wanting to give an estimate. I'd have people walk by looking in the back yard. I was worried stuff was going to get stolen so I'd have to take everything in the house," said Ashley.

And facing the fear of a car crashing through her back yard every day is enough for Ashley to reconsider where she lives.

"Well, I kind of want to move now," she said. "I really love the house and everything, but it's just such a safety risk. You never know when somebody is going to crash through your fence and land in your pool."
