Abilene police are investigating the accident that took the life of a motorcycle rider.

Police say 30-year-old Justin Burleson was killed when the motorcycle he was riding slammed head-on into an 18-wheeler.

It was on highway 277 in far north Abilene. Officers received the call around 12:40 Thursday morning.

Accident investigators say Burleson was riding south in the north-bound lanes of the freeway when he ran into the truck pulling a cattle trailer.

Investigators also say that Burleson was not wearing a helmet.
