An Abilene teenager is on trial for the accidental shooting death of a friend.

18-year-old Joseph Fowler is charged with manslaughter for the shooting death of Michael Huffman.

Police say Fowler was handling a loaded gun back in January of 2011 when the gun went off, shooting Huffman.

It happened at a west Abilene mobile home park.

Fowler told police that he, Huffman and another teenager were playing Russian roulette with the gun.

The trial is scheduled to resume Friday afternoon with the testimony of a ballistics expert.

The trial is being conducted without a jury.

I dont call this an accident.....he killed the other boy plain and simple...games they were playing games and the other boy wasnt lucky? The boy should have a jury and be sentenced because he killed another human. If he gets a slap on the wrist what is the courts gonna say when it happens again.....

Today was the first time the coverage has reported that the teen was playing Russian roulette. If you point a loaded gun at someone, knowing it%u2019s loaded, pull the trigger and that person is injured or dies you shot that person deliberately and with forethought. Notice he didn%u2019t point the gun at himself. I don%u2019t see how this could be called an accident.
