It's the story about a little baby plant that grows up to be one big green monster all because of a little blood. Soon a few local performers will have the chance to put their own spin on the cult classic story, "Little Shop of Horrors."

On KTAB 4u Monday Cassie Fifield, who plays "Audrey," described why she jumped on board the cast.

"One of the great things about Audrey is that she is a real woman," Fifield explains. "Most of the musical theatre world... you have to be a Cinderella to get the lead, but Audrey, she is a little more raw a little more realistic and I liked that."

"I defy anyone in our audience not to fall in love with this lady!" adds Dennis Gleason, Executive Director for the Abilene Community Theatre. "She is incredibly talented."

So what will be in store for audiences opening night? According to Gleason a little horror, a few laughs and a whole lot of excitement.

But for audiences expecting a similar ending to the 1986 movie rendition (watch trailer), they might go home a little disappointed.

"It's pretty different," says Fifield, "I think audience members will be a little surprised by the ending actually."

Fifield adds, "they should come see it, cause they don't know what their missing."
